A discrete time population genetic model for X-linked recessive diseases
نویسندگان
چکیده
The epidemiology of X-linked recessive diseases, a class of genetic disorders, is modeled with a discretetime, structured, mathematical model. The model accounts for both de novo mutations and different reproduction rates of procreating couples depending on their health conditions. Relying on Lyapunov theory, asymptotic stability properties of equilibrium points of the model are demonstrated. The model describes the spread over time in the population of any recessive genetic disorder transmitted through the Xchromosome. Keywords—Population genetic dynamics, nonlinear dynamic analysis, stability, epidemiology.

Prenatal sex determination in suspicious cases of X-linked recessive diseases by the amelogenin gene
Objective(s):To determine the fetal discernment in suspected cases of sex linked recessive disease in the first trimester of pregnancy. Materials and Methods: After collection of 100 Chorionic Villi samples, the DNAs were extracted and baby gender was determined. Meanwhile, after increasing the sensitivity, the system was able to detect the sex of each cell which was obtained by biopsy. Resul...

Objectives: Hearing loss (HL) is the most common sensory disorder, and affects 1 in 1000 newborns. About 50% of HL is due to genetics and 70% of them are non-syndromic with a recessive pattern of inheritance. Up to now, more than 50 genes have been detected which are responsible for autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss, (ARNSHL). In Iran, HL is one of the most common disabilitie...
متن کاملLujan-Fryns syndrome (mental retardation, X-linked, marfanoid habitus)
The Lujan-Fryns syndrome or X-linked mental retardation with marfanoid habitus syndrome is a syndromal X-linked form of mental retardation, affecting predominantly males. The prevalence is not known for the general population. The syndrome is associated with mild to moderate mental retardation, distinct facial dysmorphism (long narrow face, maxillary hypoplasia, small mandible and prominent for...
متن کاملMolecular genetic analysis of retinitis pigmentosa in Indonesia using genome-wide homozygosity mapping
PURPOSE Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous retinal disorder. Despite tremendous knowledge about the genes involved in RP, little is known about the genetic causes of RP in Indonesia. Here, we aim to identify the molecular genetic causes underlying RP in a small cohort of Indonesian patients, using genome-wide homozygosity mapping. METHODS DNA samples from ...
متن کاملAutosomal Recessive Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia Caused by a Novel Mutation in EDAR Gene
Backgrounds: Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) is a rare genetic disorder, distinguished by hypotrichosis, hypohidrosis, and hypodontia. HDE can be inherited in X-linked recessive manner as a result of mutations in the ectodysplasin A (EDA) gene as well as autosomal dominant and autosomal recessive manners both of them caused by mutations in EDA receptor (EDAR) and EDAR-associated death d...
